Surkhet Airport, which was closed for a month for maintenance, has resumed
operations today. The airport was closed for a month due to the need to repair the
runway. The Civil Aviation Office Surkhet has informed that the airport came into
operation as soon as the repair work was completed.
Airlines have opened Kathmandu-Surkhet ticket sales for today after the operation of
the airport. Buddha Air has been operating regular flights from Surkhet to Kathmandu.
Buddha had added a flight to Nepalgunj as an alternative to Surkhet.
The company, which operates five daily flights to Nepalgunj, used to operate six daily
flights when the Surkhet airport was closed. Helicopter flights were being operated
regularly at Surkhet Airport even during the runway maintenance.
