The common responsibility of the government is to keep the original Nepali civilization alive: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that it is the common responsibility of the
government to preserve and keep alive the original Nepali civilization.

Addressing a program organized in Kathmandu on Sunday on National Jyapu Day, Prime
Minister Deuba said that it was the com mon responsibility of the government to preserve and keep alive the original Nepali civilization. He said that the government was ready to provide necessary assistance to the Jyapu community in the Kathmandu Valley for the protection of culture and heritage.

Stating that the common fundamental culture and tradition has created a sense of unity in
diversity, Prime Minister Deuba said that more should be done in the development of art,
culture and heritage. Stating that Nepal’s geographical, biodiversity, natural and cultural heritage and social structure have been exemplary in the world, Prime Minister Deuba said that it is our common responsibility to preserve and keep alive the coexistence of different castes, languages, cultural groups, common traditional culture and civilized Nepali identity. He said that the common fundamental culture and traditions have created a sense of unity in diversity and secured national unity and integrity.

Stating that Jyapu society is one of the different communities of Nepal with its own original
culture, heritage and identity, he said that this society has made a special place in the Newar community due to its original art, culture and skills.
