Counting of votes for the post of Congress Joint General Minister continues

Kathmandu, December 17

The counting of votes for the post of Joint General Minister in the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress is underway.

According to Election Committee Coordinator Gopal Krishna Ghimire, counting of votes of Muslims, Madhesis, Tharu and Khas Arya has started. “We have opened the ballot boxes of four clusters,” Ghimire told online news. Now the rest of the backward area, we are preparing to open it by mobilizing manpower. Out of the eight joint general secretary posts of the Congress, the results of three clusters (women, dalits and tribals) were announced on Thursday. Mahalakshmi Upadhyaya ‘Dina’has been elected as the women’s joint general minister, Jeevan Pariyar as the Dalit joint general minister and Bhishmaraj Aangdambe as the joint general minister of Adivasi Janajati.

In the Khas Arya group, Kishore Singh Rathore from Sher Bahadur Deuba panel and Devraj Chalise from Shekhar Koirala panel are candidates.

Mahendra Yadav from the Sher Bahadur Deuba panel, Ram Krishna Yadav from the Shekhar Koirala panel and Ram Krishna Yadav from the Vimalendra Nidhi panel are candidates for the post of joint general minister from the Madhesi cluster.

Umakanta Chaudhary of Deuba group and Tejulal Chaudhary of Koirala group from Tharu cluster and Farmullah Mansur of Deuba panel from Muslim cluster and Sheikh Vakil of Koirala panel are competing.

Similarly, Jeevan Bahadur Shahi of Deuba group, Badri Pandey of Koirala group and Chetraj Baral of Nidhi group are contesting for the post of joint general minister from backward constituency cluster.
