Gagan and Bishwa Prakash still have the lead in the Congress General Secretary

Kathmandu, December 16

Gagan Thapa, who was nominated by the Shekhar Koirala panel for the post of General Secretary of the Nepali Congress, has maintained his lead. Bishwa Prakash Sharma of Prakash Man Singh panel is in the second place.

In the third place, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba, panel candidates Prakash Sharan Mahat and Pradip Poudel are behind him. There is fierce competition between Poudel and Mahat for the third place.

Gagan Thapa, who was nominated by the Shekhar Koirala panel for the post of General Secretary, is leading while Minendra Rijal, another candidate of the same
panel, is in the fifth position.

When 1530 votes were counted, Gagan Thapa got the highest number of 985 votes. Bishwa Prakash Sharma got 603 votes. Prakash Sharan Mahat got 492 votes, Pradip Poudel got 447 votes and Minendra Rijal got 254 votes.

Another candidate Dr. Rajaram Karki of Bimalendra Nidhi group got only 47 votes.
