Voting begins to elect new Congress leadership

Voting for the new leadership has started under the 14th General Convention of the Nepali Congress. Voting started at 8 am in the morning but was delayed by more than three hours. Voting is scheduled for 5 pm.

Arrangements have been made for voting at Bhrikuti Mandap and National Assembly. Delegates have lined up to cast their Ballots at those polling stations. Candidates are asking for votes by reaching the same line.

Voters from the party’s Central Working Committee, Public Relations Committee, Fraternal and goodwill organization, Karnali Pradesh and Lumbini Pradesh will cast their votes in the National Assembly.

Arrangements have been made for the voters of Province 2 and Gandaki to cast their votes in the premises of Bhrikuti Mandap and for the delegates of the General Convention of Province 1, Bagmati and Far Western Province in the exhibition hall of Bhrikuti Mandap.

There are 29 types of ballot papers in the election and separate ballot boxes have been provided for all the ballot papers.

The General Convention will elect the President, two Deputy Presidents, Two General Secretaries and eight Joint General Secretaries. The Central Committee will have 121 members elected form different clusters.

The list of 4,743 delegates for voting has been made public.
