CPN-UML Vice-Chairperson AshtaLaxmi Shakya has expressed dissatisfaction over the party’s directive to hold the party’s ward convention and palika convention on Kartik 6. She demanded that the ward convention should not be held in a hurry.
Shakya, who is also the Chief Ministerv of Bagmati Pradesh, said that she was not in favour of holding the ward convention in a hurry at a program organized in Kathmandu on Wednesday.
While the CPN-UML has issued a directive to hold the party’s ward and palika conventions on the same day across the country, Vice-Chairperson Shakya said that she was not in favour of holding the convention in a hurry. She also reiterated that she did not want to infiltrate group interests within the party.
Vice-Chairperson Shakya pointed out the need to make the party faction-free. She urged that the UML should be free of factions in order to achieve the goal of socialism and to unify the communist movement in the whole of Nepal.
