Ministry of Home Affairs instructs CDOs of all 77 districts not to leave the districts

The Ministry of Home Affairs has instructed all the 77 Chief District Officers (CDOs) and the heads of the security agencies in the district not to leave the district during the Dashain and other festivals.

As the decade draws to a close, CDOs, district-based Nepal Police and Armed Police Chiefs will no longer be allowed to leave the district without urgent work and permission from the Home Ministry. As the local administration and security agencies should be more vigilant during the festival, they have been told not to go on holiday.

Although government offices remain closed during the decade, local administration and security agencies remain open. In such cases, instructions have also been given to make arrangements for the public to register vertical petitions and lodge complaints.
