The main opposition party CPN-UML has demanded the resignation of the Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota. Speaking at the second meeting of the National Assembly that started on Tuesday, UML MP BhairavSundar Shrestha demanded the resignation of Speaker Sapkota saying that he could not maintain his post.
As usual, UML lawmakers stood up and obstructed the meeting. After that National Assembly Speaker Ganesh Prasad Timilsina allowed Shrestha to speak. Speaking on the occasion, Shrestha accused his party of failing to uphold the dignity of Speaker Sapkota by dismissing 14 lawmakers who had violated party discipline.
