In Province 1, 10 UML MPs have chosen the Unified Socialist Party led by Madhav Kumar Nepal.
Reaching the office of the Provincial Election Commission in Biratnagar, they have identified themselves in favour of the new party. According to the commission, Rajendra Rai of Bhojpur, Rajan Rai of Khotang, Upendra Ghimire, krishna Kumari Rai and Sabitri Regmi of Morang, Khinu Langwa Limbu of Ilam, Ganesh Kangwang of Panchthar, Sunita Chaudhary of Udayapur, Sarita Thapa of Sankhuwasabha and Padam Kumari Gurung have chosen tge Unified Socialist Party.
The Election Commission had given a deadline of Bhadra 22 to select the party that split from the UML. The government led by Chief Minister of State 1 Bhim Prasad Acharya has been in the minority for a week with 10 UML MPs electing the Unified Socialist Party.
In Karnali, three UML MPs joined the Unified Socialist
Three UML MPs from the Karnali Provincial Assembly have identified themselves as CPN-Unified Socialists. According to the Election Commission Office in Surkhet, Devi Oli of Rukum West, Chandra Bahadur Shahi of Mugu and Padam Rokaya of Jumla have chosen the CPN-Unified Socialist Party.
