Objections of the ruling parties saying that the speaker was threatened

The ruling coalition parties have urged the lawmakers of the main opposition party CPN-UML to uphold the constitutional dignity. The coalition party has stated that the statement made by the CPN-UML lawmakers targeting the speaker in the office of the Speaker at the Federal Parliament Secretariat on Bhadra 3 and 4 was against the parliamentary norms.

The ruling coalition partners Nepali Congress CPN-Maoist Center, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, RastriyaJanamorcha and Madhav Kumar Nepal have issued a joint statement today drawing attention to the threat of UML lawmakers to use ‘force’ and the statement made by UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli. The statement said that the statements of UML Chairman Oli and the lawmakers were against the democratic system.

UML chairperson Oli had expressed his indignation over the delay in taking action against 14 MPs from Madhav Kumar Nepal’s party and asked, “Shouldn’t the speaker run the parliament?”.

Protesting against Oli’s statement, the ruling parties have signed the agreement on behalf of Nepali Congress, Whip PushpaBhushal, CPN-Maoist Chief Whip Dev Prasad Gurung, Janata Samajwadi Party MP Pradip Yadav, RastriyaJanamorcha MP DurgaPoudel and Madhav Kumar Nepal MP Jeevan Ram Shrestha.
