Three arrested for collecting donations under the pretext of treating kidney patients

A team of the District Police, Kaski has arrested three persons for collecting donations under the pretext of treating kidney patients in different parts of the country.

Alija Basnet of Birtamod, Jhapa, Dhan Bahadur Sentury of Haldibari and Tek Bahadur Basnet of Birtamod have been arrested for printing receipts from Unique Volunteer Nepal, Dharan Sunsari and collecting donations in the name of kidney patients in Pokhara.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Subash Hamal, they were arrested on the basis of confidential information from Pokhara Metropolitan City-26 Bijaypur-based New Highway Staff Hotel and Lodge along with receipts, pamphlets and Rs. Four lakh six thousand 406 including cash.

He informed that they have been collecting donations from Kaski, Tanahu, Nawalparasi, Palpa and other districts by renting 10 auto tampons by forming a group of 12 patients. Under the Donations Act 2030, the district court has extended the period by five days and necessary investigation is underway.
