The name of the new party proposed by Former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal and leader Mahantha Thakur has been changed.
According to the election law, the CPN(UML) has changed its name to Socialist CPN(UML) as it is not allowed to have a name similar to that of a registered party.
Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal (Democratic) has been renamed as Mahantha Thakur group and the new party has been renamed as LoktantrikSamajwadi Party.
