Janata Samajwadi Party leader Mahantha Thakur’s group had approached the Election Commission to form a new party. The Thakur group has proposed the name of the new party Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal(Democratic) and the election symbol will be bicycle.
Leaders led by Thakur, including RajendraMahato, have gone to the Election Commission. The Thakur faction has decided to form a new party after the ordinance was passed to make it easier to split the party.
