Lumbini Chief Minister Shankar Pokharel has resigned. Minister for Economic Planning Baijanath Chaudhary, spokesperson of the Lumbini state government, said that Chief Minister Pokharel had tendered his resignation to state chief AmikSherchan.
A special session of the state assembly was called for 1 pm today after the opposition coalition filed a no-confidence motion against the government in the state assembly. Chief Whip of the CPN-UML Lumbini Provincial Assembly BhumishworDhakal said that Chief Minister Pokharel had resigned before the special session.
