Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal, former PM Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and former PM Madhav Kumar Nepal have made plans to take and pass the MCC proposal in the parliament without any notice within the party. People within all parties are unaware of this internal preparation. Despite participating in the scheme, CPN-Maoist Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal is in confusion. Chairman Dahal has not been able to disagree or protest.
The plan is based on the assumption that the MCC will not be whipped as the Supreme Court has ruled that no one can protest in case of an emergency and that it can be easily passed under the influence and pressure on the majority of MPs. It is not forgotten that the issue of secularism was secretly passed in 2063 BS without allowing discussion in the party.
Even though it was finally known, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli is not in a position to protest. He will ask former Foreign Minister Pradip Gyawali to protest in the parliament as in the past. No matter how much the Nepal Workers Peasants Party opposes the MCC; it will not have any effect.
Looking at the increased US activism and activity after Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba became the Prime Minister, it is understood that the US Army is preparing to enter Nepal by next October as soon as the MCC is passed. In order to create a favorable environment in Nepal, the US Ambassador along with the Prime Minister has been deployed in the field through COVAX vaccine of Covid-19 to win the hearts and minds of the Nepalese people.
