The Baglung section of the Mid-Hills Highway has been blocked

The Baglung section of the Mid-Hills(Pushpalal) Highway has been blocked due to continuous rains. The landslide has blocked the road at Baglung Municipality-3 Bokse, Suntali Ghumti over Aksheta of Kathmandu village and a landslide at Bayaldanda under Baglung section of the highway.

Engineer Ujjwal Sharma of the Highway Planning Office informed that landslides fell in two places and the road was blocked due to floods in Bokse. Necessary equipment has been deployed at three places to clear the road blocked by landslides after continuous rains. The target is to open the road by this afternoon.

Another project of national pride, Kaligandaki Corridor and Baglung-Balaiwa Road has also been blocked due to rains, said Information Officer at the District Police Office, Iqbal Hawari. The highway has been blocked and passengers have been stranded after a landslide fell on the Sahasradhara of the mountain under Baglung-Pokhara road. By Muna Chand
