On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, a grand ceremony was held on July 1 at Tiananmen Square in Beijing. On the occasion, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President and Chairman of the Central Military Commission will address the gathering.
Various demarcating parties, chambers of commerce and industry and non-party members have also jointly sent congratulatory messages. Members of the Communist Youth League and representatives of the Young Pioneers also sent congratulatory messages. In all more than 70,000 party members and general public attended the ceremony.
