The National Reconstruction Authority will remain the same till mid-Kartik

The current institutional structure and functioning of the National Reconstruction Authority will remain the same till mid-Kartik 2078 BS. The 19th meeting of the NEA Board of Directors chaired by Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today decided to complete the reconstruction works including private housing by the fiscal year 2077/78.

NEA Chief Executivr Officer Sushil Gyawali said that the previous exit and handover action plan has been revised due to the ban on the second wave of Covid epidemic.

Gyawali informed that these works should be completed within the first four months of the Fiscal Year 2078/79 BS by mobilizing as few manpower as possible and the preparation and handover of the International Conference would be carried out simultaneously in the same period. Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel expressed his commitment to manage the required budget for the said work from the first day of the Fiscal Year 2078/79.

The meeting also decided to postpone the work till mid-Kartik for the beneficiaries of private houses who could not complete the work due to the second wave of Covid-19 epidemic.

The meeting also directed NEA to provide the remaining instalment of the grant to beneficiaries of private houses who have completed the construction work but failed to meet the criteria of safe house through the concerned local level.

The meeting approved to hold the proposed International Conference on Reconstruction of Nepal on Mangsir 21-23, 2078 and accordingly on December 7-9, 2021. NEA will organize the conference in a mixed model of physical and virtual medium considering the current situation.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to provide communication and transportation expenses and remote allowances to the engineers engaged in the reconstruction of private houses as per the earlier agreement.

The meeting was attended by Law Minister Lila Nath Shrestha, Deputy Chairman of National Planning Commission Dr. Pushparaj Kandel, Chief Secretary Shankar Das Bairagi, Home Secretary Maheshwor Neupane, Secretary to the Prime Minister and Office of the Council of Ministers Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, Chief Executive of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority Anil Pokharel, Biard of Directors of Reconstruction Authority Dr. Tara Nidhi Bhattarai and others were present.
