Attack on democratic values and beliefs: Deuba

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the dissolution of the House of Representatives has created to threat to democracy. In an interaction with various media outlets yesterday, the Opposition Coalition said that the rejection of petition, which was signed by a majority of 149 members of the House of Representatives and called for by the President, was an attack on democratic values and norms.

On the occasion Nepali Congress President Deuba informed that a united front of five political parties has been informed with the objective of protecting the national interest, constitution of Nepal, democracy, protection of parliament and protecting the people from epidemics and natural calamities.

Stating that some action and decisions of the government have been blocked by the court, the former prime minister said that they have taken the implementation of the federal democratic republic, social justice, inclusive democracy, rule of law and prosperity as common destination keeping the national interest and the interest of the people above all. He said that he would move ahead in the direction of mass mobilization if necessary.

Nepali Congress President clarified the belief that the national interest should be protected on the basis of democratic system in the changing global environment with the firm belief that Nepalese will decide the country keeping in mind the pride and self-respect of Nepal.

The government has twice dissolved the House of Representatives, ruled by ordinance, interfered with independent judiciary and constitutional bodies, create a situation where those who were vaccinated against corona did not get a second vaccine and did not effectively protect people from natural disasters such as floods, landslides and inundation, etc. Was the allegation of Nepali Congress President Deuba.
