China discusses BRI with 30 countries in Asia Pacific Region including Nepal

China has hosted a high-level conference focusing on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) with foreign and finance ministers from 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region, including Nepal. Following the launch of the B-3W project by the G-7 club to counter BRI, China has brought together representatives from 30 countries to discuss the BRI and the corona epidemic.

Nepal was represented by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel. Addressing the conference, Poudel said that global cooperation, unity and solidarity were needed to defeat the Corona epidemic.

Representatives of the United Nations and various other organizations also attended the two conferences. Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a text message to the conference, according to the Online News.

At present, 140 countries and regions and 32 international organizations have signed an agreement on cooperation in BRI. Italy, a member of the G-7, has signed an agreement with China to cooperate with the BRI. Since the project was launched in 2013, China has invested 136 billion in various countries and regions through BRI. By Muna Chand
