Kathmandu Metropolitan City to conduct vaccination against COVID-19

The Kathmandu Metropolitan city has written to the Ward Vaccination Coordinating Committee to specify the name of the centre to conduct vaccination against COVID-19 for 60- to 64-year-olds from next Tuesday.

Based on discussion of the Ministry of Health and Population on June 1, a meeting was held between the District Health Office and the Urban Health and Food Regulation Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan on Friday and it has been decided to operate one vaccination centre in each ward. Based on the decision, a letter has been sent from the ward to determine the vaccination centre of the ward.

The first dose of Verocell (Chinese vaccine) is being given to people in that age group. Under the vaccination program, the government first vaccinated people at the forefront of epidemic control, then for people in the 65-years-old age group and a third for people aged 18 to 59. About one lakh people have benefited from the vaccination program run by establishing a centre at the ward level since May 25.
