13 Aug. # Discussions between the two chairpersons of the Communist Party of Nepal, KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal, which were halted due to differences over the resumption of the meeting of the standing committee, resumed today.
Another chairman Prachanda had reached Baluwatar at 11 in the morning for a meeting with Prime Minister Oli. After the discussion, Prachanda left Baluwatar at 3 o’clock. This meeting took place 9 days after. Sources claim that only discussions were held between the two Chairs in Baluwatar. It will be discussed again tomorrow.
Nine days after the postponement of the standing committee meeting, Chairman Oli, who is also the Prime Minister and Dahal, had a four-hour discussion in Baluwatar today. In an interview, Prime Minister Oli on Thursday assured that an agreement would be reached within five days. Leaders and cadres of the party have hoped that the dispute would be resolved after the Prime Minister’s statement.
A meeting was held between the two chairpersons on July 4, 5 and 6 in the presence of senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal and deputy leader of the parliamentary party Subash Chandra Nemwang. However, no agreement was reached as both sides remained steadfast.
