US COVID-19 cases top 6,000, deaths surpass 100

The number of COVID-19 cases in the United States has topped 6,000 by 7 p.m. local time Tuesday (2300 GMT), according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering at Johns Hopkins University.

The fresh figure reached 6,233, increasing over 1,000 within about 7 hours. A total of 105 deaths have been reported across the country.
