The trekking companies charge 25 thousand US dollars per person to scale Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest), however, while transporting the dead body of the climbers from the summit to the base camp, the companies are found charging around one hundred thousand US dollars reports Nagarik daily.
Demand of such a big amount may spread negative impression about the country, say businessmen associated in tourism sector.
Such trekking companies are found unable to provide quality service and they have failed to adopt security measures to reduce accident rate while claiming such mountains.
Recent fake rescue scandal has already ruined the image of mountaineering sector in the country. The incident of death while climbing the mountains and the issue of transportation charge of dead body of the climbers to the base camp may further ruin Nepal’s image abroad.
