Severe rainfall in northeast China causing major traffic delay

Northeast China’s Changchun had heavy rainfall of about 5 hours on Sunday, causing serious water accumulation in many sections of the city. Many parked vehicles have been water damaged, while numerous apartments were seriously flooded on the ground levels.

The Central Meteorological Observatory announced on June 2nd at 23:08 that “the rainfall from Changchun in the afternoon was extremely heavy, in combination with strong convective weather such as strong winds, thunder and lightning.”

The Jilin Provincial Meteorological Observatory has issued an orange warning for heavy rain. The public is advised to stay indoors.
