Chinese authorities have announce plans to start granting 5G licenses for commercial use, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said Monday.
“China welcomes domestic and overseas companies to become engaged in 5G network construction and application, while sharing the fruit of China’s 5G development,” said the Ministry in a statement.
The 5G standards used in China are international standards set by various companies worldwide. Many overseas companies such as Nokia, Ericsson, Qualcomm and Intel have already participated in the testing stages for 5G development.
China’s 5G industry has a competitive advantage and is well prepared for commercial use, said the Ministry.
