The red-carpet premiere has included actors Kit Harington, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner and Emilia Clarke.

Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, says she feels bittersweet about the show coming to an end.

“It’s very exciting because it’s, you know, it’s a whole new chapter of our lives we’re embarking on, but it’s also, it’s really sad because this other chapter is closing and we won’t be able to play these amazing characters anymore, or be in scenes with each other as those characters, and so it’s a mixture of both,” says Turner.

The eighth season will also be its shortest, with only six episodes, and will begin airing on HBO on April 14th.

The series is based on the popular book series “A Song of Ice and Fire” by George R.R. Martin.

It won Best Drama at last year’s Emmy Awards.
