The Palace Museum has launched a set of snow-themed condiment boxes that will go on sale when the first day of snow arrives in Beijing next winter.
The new product, called “First Snow”, is designed to store salt and sugar. Each set has three boxes and comes with a palace wall, a stone lion, and a bronze crane in a domed jar. When it is filled with salt or sugar, the design is reminiscent of a snowy day at the Palace Museum. Snow days are some of the busiest for the museum, with tickets quickly booking out.

Many people on social media have praised the design of the new product. One said that it has turned a common household item into something that transforms any ordinary kitchen into an imperial dining room.
