CM Pawan Chamling says education will be made free up to post-graduation level

 

Ravangla, 5th April/ Pawan Chamling reached Ravangla today on the 7th day of the 10-day long Sikkim Vijay Sankalp Rally. People from Barfung, Temi-Namphing, Rangang-Yangang and Sangha constituencies joined in the event. The event was widely streamed and about 3 lakh people tuned in on social media.

Chamling informed the crowd of SDF’s development plans for the state. He said that the ropeway and skywalk in Yangang which is currently under construction will lead to development of the constituency into a tourist hot-spot, which will ultimately lead to overall development of the state. He further added that a world class sewage management will be developed in Ravangla. Other key promises made by the CM include making a housing colony for landless and homeless people, Rs 5,000 to be provided as pension to every ex-Panchayats, doubling of Panchayat salary in the coming term, regularising of government services and One Family One Job scheme.

He further stated that education is a key priority of the SDF government and the government’s policy to provide free education up till college level will continue. He promised will further be taken forward to make education free up to post-graduation level.

Commenting on the recent spate of violence undertaken by SKM he said that, “SKM party is a party that thrives on violence. The recent violence being undertaken by the party all over Sikkim is shameful and condemnable and will never be accepted by the people of Sikkim”.
He urged the people to vote once again in favour of SDF party in the upcoming elections reminding people of the great responsibility of voting and warning people to be waryof seasonal politicians, who will disappear immediately after the elections and betray them.

On the previous 6 days of the Sikkim Vijay Sankalp Rally, Pawan Chamling addressed the public in Soreng, Mangan, Gagtok, Namthang, Rorathang and Kabi. On the days to follow he will be addressing the public in Geyzing, Mining, Rangpo and Jorethang.

The election to the 32-member Sikkim Assembly is being held on 11th April alongside the Lok Sabha election.
