Beilangzhong Village in northeast Beijing’s Shunyi district has embraced environmentally-sustainable development, and is prospering as a result.
The villagers have profited from the coordinated development of three industries: flower production, food processing, and tourism-centered agriculture.
The outcomes of this coordination are jobs for the villagers and dividends from the collectively-owned enterprises. As a result, last year the disposable income for each resident reached 41,000 yuan (6,100 U.S. dollars).
