China supports India, Pakistan in maintaining contact

China welcomes the expression of goodwill between India and Pakistan and supports the two countries in maintaining contact, a Foreign Ministry spokesperson said Monday.

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said on his social media account that he had received a letter honoring Pakistan’s national day from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and expressed his thanks to the Indian side.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang said China welcomes leaders of India and Pakistan expressing goodwill to each other and hopes both sides would work to stabilize the situation, resolve differences and improve relations through dialogue, and China would continue to play a constructive role in this regard.
