17th session of NA begins

Kathmandu, Jan 31:

National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal has expressed the belief that all the National Assembly members would play significant role to take the NA to a new height.
Welcoming all NA members to the 17th session of the National Assembly, commenced from today, Chair Dahal urged the NA members to make themselves active to carry out activities of NA and its committees in a systematic and disciplined manner as before.
He shared that out of 65 bills registered in the NA so far, 34 bills were already authenticated, 12 bills withdrawn by government and five became inactive.
Similarly, out of 14 bills that are under consideration at the NA, seven were sent to the House of Representatives with message, he added.
Earlier, at the beginning of the meeting, tribute was paid to all the known and unknown martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the nation, by observing one minute’s silence.
Reports of various committees as well as various ordinances would be tabled in today’s meeting, it is said.

 

Reports of two bills tabled in NA

Kathmandu, Jan 31: Reports of two bills have been tabled in today’s meeting of the National Assembly.
In the 17th session of the NA, commenced from today, President of Legislative Management Committee, Tulasa Kumari Dahal, presented the Committee’s reports on ‘Media Council Bill, 2080’ and ‘Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Bill, 2081’.
Presenting the reports, Dahal mentioned that goals of maintaining professional ethics in journalism sector as well as achieving sustainable development goals from the promotion of renewable energy through these bills have been set.
