Gandaki, Oct 20:
President of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), Rabi Lamichhane, who has been arrested on the charge of misappropriation of the cooperative funds, has been produced at the District Court Kaski today.
He has been presented before the court for taking permission from it to extend his custody term for further investigation. Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu on Friday and transferred overnight to Pokhara.
RSP leaders, lawmakers and supporters had protested while the RSP president was being taken to the court. Before setting out to the court, he had said that he would cooperate to the legal process.
The District Police Office Kaski has been conducting an investigation on him on the charge of siphoning off the savings of the Pokhara-based to Gorkha Media Network in collusion with GB Rai, the Founding Chairperson of the Cooperatives.
