Nembang had key role in promulgation of current constitution: PM Oli

Kathmandu, Sept 11:

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that Chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA), Subas Chandra Nembang, played a pivotal role in facilitating the promulgation of the constitution from the historic Second CA.
Addressing a memorial function commemorating the first death anniversary of CA Chair and CPN (UML) then Vice-chair Nembang at the Tulsilal Memorial Foundation, Chyasal today, PM Oli remembered the late Nembang as the true follower of democracy.
He made it clear on the occasion that the CA Chair Nembang played a crucial and positive role not to let the Second CA fail and to promulgate the constitution, stating it would always be remembered that Nembang had presided over the CA not only in his role in that position, but also in his mindset.
“Nembang was an able law expert, constitutional expert as well as the true follower of democracy. His demise has caused an unprecedented loss to his family and our party. The country has lost a pro-people and patriotic personality,” the PM said.
Party Chair Oli announced that the party will establish a Central Foundation dedicated to Nembang.
He expressed the view that such Foundations already established and to be setup in the name of leaders making contribution to the political changes in Nepal should be run in deference to the leader’s ideals, principles and the path and conduct adopted by them.
PM Oli paid tributes to the late Nembang, pledging to materialize the ideals and objectives that he stood for.
