Kathmandu, Aug. 19:
Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has said the incumbent government was committed to taking the peace process to its logical end.
At a musical and poetic symposium organized by Chaupati Nepal at Nepal Academy on Monday, Minister Lekhak shared that the peace process has reached the final stage of its completion.
The Home Minister expressed his confidence that the current government formed with the alliance of major two political parties of the country would maintain lasting peace and good governance in the country and end public resentment.
“Nepali Congress and CPN (UML) formed this alliance to transform the despair created from the political instability into hope,” Lekhak argued.
The Home Minister was of the view that public resentment was on the rise due to political instability though inclusion was ensured in the federal democratic republican system.
On the occasion, Minister Lekhak said that an Immigration Office would be established at Tinkar of Darchula district soon, which is aimed at connecting the Sudurpaschim Province with both India and China.
During the event, RD Pravash Chataut was honoured for his significant contribution to the languages of Sudurpaschim and Bijaya Shrestha KC for women’s empowerment and literary writing.
Likewise, the main coach of the national women’s volleyball team Jagadish Prasad Bhatta, classical songwriter and singer Tilak Singh Pela and others were felicitated.
Similarly, Dambar Sharma Badu was honoured posthumously for his contributions to the development and promotion of languages of the Sudurpaschim Province.
