SC directs not to implement govt. decision to sack NEA Board of Directors

Kathmandu, Aug. 8:

The Supreme Court (SC) has directed the government not to implement its decision to relieve Bhakta Bahadur Pun and Kapil Acharya of their positions as the Board of Directors of the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA).

SC Justice Sunil Kumar Pokharel issued an interim order on Thursday in the name of the government to not implement its decision to remove Pun and Acharya from their positions.

Likewise, the SC has sought the reasons from the government about their removal from the posts.

Taking a minister-level decision, Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation Dipak Khadka on August 2 removed Pun and Acharya from their jobs.

After their removal from the posts, Devendra Karki and Mahendra Bahadur Gurung were appointed.

 

NEA submits details of dedicated and trunk power supply lines to PAC

Kathmandu, Aug 8: The Nepal Electricity Authority has submitted the details of the dedicated feeder and trunk power lines as requested by the Public Accounts Committee of the Parliament today.

The committee had earlier directed the NEA to submit all the details of Time of Day (TOD) meters of the industries using dedicated and trunk power supply lines.

According to the NEA, all the details including TOD load profile, TOD download, log sheet, power bill, discount bill, judgments made by different levels of courts were handed over to the committee.
