Tourism minister pledges to swiftly initiate reform efforts for aviation safety

Kathmandu, Aug 8:

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation said it has initiated efforts from today onward for immediate, mid-term and long-term reforms keeping aviation safety in the high priority.

Issuing a statement on Wednesday evening, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Badri Prasad Pandey expressed the commitment to lay focus on the matter of aviation safety for a week by adjourning all pre-set programmes except the most urgent ones.

He also mentioned that the ministry and its subordinate agencies would be mobilized for taking necessary initiatives to that end.

Four Chinese nationals and plot Arun Malla were killed in a crash of a helicopter belonging to the Air Dynasty in Shivapuri rural municipality-7, Suryachaur of Nuwakot on Wednesday.

Minister Pandey sought support, cooperation and suggestions from all sides to explore solution to the challenges facing by the aviation sector.

The Ministry has urged the stakeholders to provide recommendations for the immediate and long-term actions to its official email address.

Minister Pandey extended tribute to those killed in the helicopter accident and also expressed condolences to the grief-stricken family members.
