Implement National Security Policy, says Defense Minister Khadka  

Kathmandu, Jan 10:

Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister, Purna Bahadur Khadka, has directed the bodies concerned to implement the activities under their respective responsibilities as National Security Policy is important and sensitive issue related with Nepal’s territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty and safety of the people.

During the progress review of National Security Policy-2075 Implementation Integrated Action Plan, 2077 today, DPM Khadka suggested that all ministries, Nepali Army, other security bodies and stakeholders should fulfill their responsibilities by taking full ownership over it.

He drew the attention to identify the problems seen in implementation of the action plan and issues to be addressed within a week.

Similarly, National Security Advisor Shankar Das Bairagi pointed out the need of formulating and implementing other policies of the government in accordance with this policy, as National Security Policy strengthens the nation and people.

Likewise, Chief of Army Staffs, Prabhu Ram Sharma, laid emphasis on effective implementation of the policy in coordination and cooperation of all, as security policy is the issue of common responsibility of all ministries and bodies, not only of Defense Ministry and Nepali Army.

Secretaries of different ministries, chiefs of Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, National Investigation Department, among others were present in the meeting chaired by acting Secretary of the Defense Ministry, Baburam Adhikari.
