Janakpurdham, Jan 3:
The stakeholders concerned have argued that good governance could be ensured with the adherence to legal provisions and office integrity.
During a province level interaction organized by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) on ‘corruption control and promotion of good governance’ here Wednesday, the speakers expressed worry over non-implementation of law.
Chief Commissioner at CIAA, Prem Kumar Rai, viewed once the people’s representatives, public servants and other concerned ones, who have role to public service delivery, enforce laws in letter and spirit, many problems would fizzle out. Policy level decision to escape administrative bottlenecks is a serious problem in government offices, so expert employees have important role to tackle this situation.
“Those exercising executive rights must abide by law to curb corruption and promote good governance,” he said, adding that every problem deserves logical solution. He also drew everyone’s attention for corruption control and service delivery.
On the occasion, Chief Minister of Madhes Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, however, assured that Madhes province government would extend support to every initiative the CIAA takes in course of curbing financial sleaze and fostering good governance. He urged CIAA to settle the complaints on time so that people’s representatives could work smoothly.
Learning from the past mistakes, the province government was working actively by adopting zero-tolerance against bad governance. He also urged all sides to fulfill responsibility as per government plans and programmes.
The financial sleaze and administrative malfeasance could be controlled with concerted efforts of people’s representatives, employees and service seekers, according to Chief Secretary Dinesh Kumar Ghimire.
