Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said the Karnali carried a potentiality for being an inspiration and a foundation for nation’s prosperity.
In his address to a programme organised at Birendranagar of Surkhet on the occasion of the establishment of the Karnali Province today, the Prime Minister said Karnali possesses abundant natural resources such as water, land, scenic landscapes, and medicinal herbs, alongside its rich cultural and linguistic identity.
“Karnali presents a pivotal chapter in human civilization,” he said, adding that any development endevours, infrastructure development, goals for change and the precious production culture here could contribute significantly for the prosperity of the entire nation.
He said he was influenced by the motto of Province government’s agriculture programme which emphasized that “whatever the Karnali sells, it supplies valuable products”.
On the occasion, he also extended his tributes to those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of the establishment of the Province.
Furthermore, he said that he was not unfamiliar with the occurrences of maternal deaths in Karnali, as well as an array of challenges, economic conditions, and distinctive topography here.
The Sinja civilization of Karnali, along with its diverse geography, modest population, and remarkable attractions like Upper Rara, Upper Dolpa, Limi offering the view of Kailash Mansarovar, Shey Phoksundo Lake, and the Panchapuri Valley, all hold immense touristic value, according to the Prime Minister who hoped that any polices, programmes and plans of the Province movement would be focus on exploring abundant potentialities of the Province.
As he said, the federal, democratic, inclusive republic along with the federal system based on identity and capacity has been established in Nepal to put to an end the disparities and discrimination created by the unitary state system and to establish society based on social justice where the citizens can fully exercise their rights.
He viewed that we have become the dignified and sovereign citizens of an independent, sovereign and republican nation as a result of the institution of the republic alone. “The constitutional rights providing equal rights, equal opportunity and equal status, which is not less by any means to the so-called best constitutions of the world. However, our main responsibility to bring changes in the lives of the people as per the constitution is yet to be fully implemented,” he added.
Stating the people would be able to get a feeling as per the spirit of federalism only with the formulation and implementation of the key legislations required for the execution of the fundamental rights, the PM said his priority is to promptly draft these legislations.
