Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has insisted on the effective implementation of academic calendar in universities.
In his address to a meeting organised on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the TU Senate here today, the Prime Minister who is also the TU Chancellor emphasized that it was minimum responsibility of TU office-bearers to prioritize the best interests of students and guardians by saving time and cost, and to ensure a bright future for each student.
The Prime Minister specifically directed the TU to effectively implement the academic calendar, ensure timely completion of classes, conduction of exams and publishing of results.
Stating that he has been closely monitoring and assessing the academic and administrative aspects of the university in his capacity as the TU Chancellor, PM Dahal said efforts were underway to identify challenges facing the TU, through discussions, dialogues with stakeholders concerned and formal gatherings. He emphasized the need to address the emerging challenges. The Prime Minister stressed the need of developing and implementing both short-term and long-term plans for further advancement of the university, pledging the government’s support towards that end.
Moreover, the Prime Minister stressed the need for discussions to explore ways to produce quality TU graduates who are able to meet the requirements of the national and global scenarios and to compete in the global market.
As he stressed, the TU as the nation’s leading, oldest, and largest university, holds the responsibility to lead and guide other universities and the Health Science Academies in the country in teaching and research endeavors.
