Suining City, located in the middle of the Sichuan Basin and the middle reaches of the Fujiang River, is an important part of Chengdu Plain Economic Zone. It has jurisdiction over Chuanshan District, Anju District, Shehong City, Pengxi County, and Daying County, as well as three municipal parks, namely the National Suining Economic and Technological Development Zone, the Hedong New Area, and the Suining High tech Zone. Covering an area of 5322 square kilometers, with a total population of 3.54 million.
A Long History and Rich Cultural Heritage
Suining was founded in 1985, and its place name began after General Huan Wen of the Eastern Jin Dynasty pacified Shu, symbolizing “pacification of war and peace”. It has been around for over 1600 years now. It enjoys the reputation of being a giant town in Dongchuan, an important town in Chuanzhong, and a country of cultural excellence. Currently, we are accelerating the construction of a green intelligent manufacturing city, an ecological park city, a heart nourishing cultural and tourism city, as well as a western water city, an eastern gas city, and a lithium battery city.
Rich in Products and Resources
Suining is a typical hilly area with beautiful scenery and environment. It is an important production base for grains, oilseeds, pigs, fruits, and traditional Chinese medicine in Sichuan Province. Natural gas, salt brine and other resources are abundant in reserves. The Fujiang River, one of the tributaries of the Yangtze River, runs through the entire area and passes through the city, forming a 14.8 square kilometer Guanyin Lake in the central urban area. Taking the shape of a unique landscape of “the city is in the water, the water is in the city”. There are many natural landscape and places of interest, such as Lingquan Temple, Guangde Temple, and the Dead Sea of China. At present, Suining has got a lot of city name cards, such as, a national Civilized City, a national Health City, a national Tourist City, one of the first batch of pilot prefecture level cities for sponge city construction, one of the first batch of green travel cities in China, and one of the first batch of pilot cities for park city construction in the province.
A Unique Location and Convenient Transportation
It is an important node city and comprehensive transportation hub between Chengdu and Chongqing. It has built a “3 directions and 7 lines” railways and a “1 ring 9 Radiations “of expressway, achieving a four directions of high-speed connection from east, west, north, south, and a 90 minute transportation circle to Chengdu and Chongqing and surrounding cities. Projects such as the resumption of navigation in Fujiang have been accelerated, and the construction of Suining Anju Airport has been carried out in an orderly manner. Adhering to green development and based on resource endowments and industries, we have established a “3+3+3” modern industrial system with lithium battery, energy chemical, and electronic information as pillar industries, green food, equipment manufacturing, and smart home as advantageous industries, and emerging industries such as biomedicine, energy conservation and environmental protection, and advanced materials.
