Kathmandu, April 3 :
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha has said Nepal Police would be established as an organisation to be proud of.
He further said the Nepal Police should be capable of preventing illegal activities. Inspecting the Police Headquarters today, DPM and Home Minister Shrestha stressed the need of developing new policy, plan, character and culture.
On the occasion, DPM Shrestha opined laid emphasis on the need of carrying out activities keeping the nation and people in centre.
He opined that all mechanism of the state should involve to provide service to the people, adding the people could achieve the change as much as the police organisation could work.
DPM Shrestha urged the police administration to further improve performance and make the people feel the changes in the institution. The delivery of the police organisation is expected to meet the people’s aspiration, making them feel that the government is for them, according to him.
Each State body should be effortful to serve the people to a highest level in line with latest political reforms, he asserted.
Inspector General of Police Basanta Bahadur Kunwar thanked the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs for the direction of institutional betterment.
He said he was hopeful that under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, the Ministry would take effective measures for the capacity enhancement in Nepal Police.
On the occasion, the DPM observed the Polygraph Section, Data Centre and Digital Forensic Lab based in the Police Headquarters.
Following the inspection, the Minister addressed the function and the police chiefs of all province police offices, training center, Nepal Police Highway Security and Traffic Management Office and all 77 districts as well through a video conference.
