NC to join government 

Kathmandu, March 19 :

A meeting of the Central Work Execution Committee of the Nepali Congress has decided to join the government led by CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

The meeting took place at the Federal Parliament Building in New Baneshwor took a decision in this regard. According to party Spokesperson Dr Prakash Sharan Mahat, the party hopes that its participation in the government will contribute to the protection of the Constitution, strengthening of federal democratic republic and completion of the remaining works of the peace process, finding the path for country’s holistic development and prosperity.

Contribution and competency will be the major guidelines for selecting ministers on the behalf of the party being based on the principles of inclusion and provincial balance, it is said.

The meeting also decided to direct the parliamentary party to back a vote of confidence to be tabled by Prime Minister Dahal in the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 20, tomorrow. Through its support to the government, the party expects to promote the existing political alliance and unity.

With the today’s decision, the NC lawmakers will be taking seats allocated in a line of ruling bench in the HoR meeting today. The meeting also congratulated newly elected Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav, wishing him a successful term.

It also congratulated the Nepali cricketers for their success in the CC World Cup League-2 to be qualified for the 2023 One-day Men’s World Cup qualifiers.

NC decides to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

The Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary party has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

A meeting of the NC parliamentary party today took a decision on this. Prior to this, the Central Works Execution Committee of the NC decided to join the government led by CPN (Maoist Centre) Chair Dahal and direct the parliamentary party to back a vote of confidence to be tabled by the Prime Minister in the House of Representatives (HoR) on March 20, tomorrow.

The move to vote for Dahal followed a decision of the Works Execution Committee, according to party Chief Whip Ramesh Lekhak who said that they will be issuing a whip to the entire party lawmakers for implementing the decision.

The Prime Minister will be seeking a vote of confidence in the HoR session tomorrow.
The meeting also agreed to join the incumbent government under the leadership of Dahal and the NC lawmakers will be taking seats allocated in a line of ruling bench in the HoR meeting today. The meeting also congratulated newly elected President Ramchandra Paudel and Vice President Ram Sahaya Yadav, wishing them a successful term.

It also congratulated the Nepali cricketers for their success in the ICC World Cup League-2 to be qualified for the 2023 One-day Men’s World Cup qualifiers.

 

RSP to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has decided to give a vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

A meeting of the RSP parliamentary party today decided to give the vote of confidence to the Prime Minister, according to party whip Santosh Pariyar.

The Prime Minister will be seeking a vote of confidence in the HoR session tomorrow, Monday. The RSP has 19 members in the lower house.

LSP to give vote of confidence to PM Dahal

The Loktantrik Samajbadi Party (LSP) Nepal has decided to give the vote of confidence to Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

A meeting of the LSP parliamentary party today took a decision to this effect. LSP senior leader Rajendra Mahato said the party decided to give trust vote to the Prime Minister and also join the government.

“The party has decided to give the vote of confidence to the Prime Minister. This will pave the way for the party’s joining in the government,” leader Mahato said.

Likewise, the meeting has decided to sit in the ruling party bench in the parliament. Although the LSP had lent a vote of confidence to the Prime Minister before this, it had taken the seats allocated to the opposition party in the House of Representatives (HoR), the lower house of the Federal Parliament. The LSP has four seats in the HoR.
