Unified Socialist in favour of consensus for presidential candidate: Leader Nepal

Kailali, Feb 12 :

Chairperson of the CPN (Unified Socialist) Madhav Kumar Nepal today said his party was in favour of consensus among all the parties regarding the new presidential candidate.

He made this statement at a press conference organised here. “We carry on by taking all parties onboard. Our party’s viewpoint is moving ahead hand-in-hand with likeminded parties. It will be good to advance in consensus to give a way out to the country,” he said.

Stressing the need for the Prime Minister to move ahead in consensus to safeguard the constitution, republic and secularism, the former Prime Minister said cases of political nature should be concluded soon.

In another context, suggesting that the present government in the Sudurpaschim Province should get a vote of confidence by bringing all onboard, he said now the country should not go for mid-term elections, and this would incur big economic losses for the country.

It may be noted that the government in the Province was recently formed under the leadership of the Nepali Congress after the erstwhile government led by the CPN (UML) toppled as a result of failure to get a vote of confidence. According to a constitutional provision, a new government should get a vote of confidence within one month of its formation.

Leader Nepal reached Dhangadhi, Kailali, to take part in the party province committee meeting.
