People protest in Aguas Calientes, in the foothills of Machu Picchu, the famous Inca ruins, in the Peruvian Andes, on August 24, 2022. – The railway service to Machu Picchu was suspended this Wednesday as a precaution due to a new protest by merchants from the town closest to the famous Inca citadel in southeastern Peru, who demand increased ticket sales to tourists.
