COVID-19: 852 cases in 24 hours 

Kathmandu, Aug 17 :

The country has reported 852 new COVID-19 cases with no virus-related casualty in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population. The caseloads were from a total of 6,383 tests (3,876 PCR and 2,507 antigen) carried out in various laboratories across the country.
During the same period, 328 infected people have been free of the deadly infection totaling the figure at 976,937 so far. The recovery rate is 98.2 percent and infection rate 17 percent, according to the Ministry. The number of active cases has hit 5,462 with 3,603 in the Kathmandu Valley (2,632 in Kathmandu, 860 in Lalitpur and 111 in Bhaktapur). So far, the death toll from the virus has hit 11,990.
At present, 5,259 infected people are in home-isolation and 203 in institution-isolation. Similarly, 59 have been admitted to intensive care units and seven are on ventilator support. The districts with zero infection cases are Panchthar, Manang, Kalikot, Humla, Dolpa, Jumla and Mugu.
