Maheshwarjung Gahatraj, the minister of youth and sports, has stated that the athlete who wins the gold medal at the 19th Asian Games, which will take place in Hangzhou, China, will get Rs 32 lakh 50 thousand. He said that the amount will be paid as compensation to the athletes who work hard for the country in a program put up by the National Sports Council Rakhepa.
According to Minister Gahatraj, the players who take home the silver medal in the competition would each receive Rs. 19 lakh and 50,000, while those who took home the bronze medal will each receive Rs. 13 lakhs.
The 2023 Asian Games will take place from September 23 to October 8, according to the program. Similarly, Minister Gahatraj stated that there won’t be any loopholes in the tournament’s preparation and that he won’t hesitate to provide more funding that is required for the players’ training.
Jeevan Ram Shrestha, the minister of culture, tourism, and civil aviation, stated that his ministry will offer every assistance in the planning of the 19th Asian Games.
The athletes are working hard to be ready for the Asian Games, according to Rakhepa Member Secretary Tanka Lal Ghising, who also highlighted that the government has set out Rs 100 million for the tournament.
The first phase of the Asian Games’ 40-day training phase is already over. The second stage of training will begin soon, according to Rakhepa.
