China’s economy is strongly linked to the rest of the world, and openness is a cornerstone of Chinese policy. China is determined to further increase its high level of openness. On July 19, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang made this statement while taking part in a video conference of international businessmen at the World Economic Forum.
Prime Minister Li made the following points in his speech: China’s growth should not be separated from that of the rest of the world, and China’s progress is also necessary for global development. The global market includes the Chinese market. We will preserve the multilateral trading system based on the World Trade Organization while being hospitable to both developed and developing nations. Additionally, we’ll support ethical and fair trading. The development of a firm will undoubtedly lead to friction and conflict. We must effectively handle conflicts while attempting to reach an understanding and preserve the supply chain’s security and stability.
The World Economic Forum’s Executive Chairman, Klaus Schwab, and Chinese Premier Li Keqiang spoke via video conference that same day in the evening at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People.
