The Kathmandu District Court Judge Rajkumar Koirala was offered a bribe by lawyer Rudra
Prasad Pokharel. The Nepal Law Practitioners Council has demanded an explanation from
Pokharel.
The council shuttered its office, refused to accept the deadline for clarification, and then
published a public notice in the Gorkhapatra Daily on Tuesday.
In order to identify whether action should be taken in the bribery case, Pokharel has been asked to respond to the questions within seven days.
In the ongoing case against Ichcharaj Tamang, the former president of the civil cooperative, in the Kathmandu District Court, Advocate Pokharel suggested paying Judge Koirala a bribe to release the accused Tamang on bail.
